The date was October 2020. After COVID shut down the restaurant industry, I found myself in a position of needing a new full-time job. I didn't have a specific job in mind, just one where I could excel and grow.
My position at RBG honestly fell into my lap. The service manager urgently needed an assistant to coordinate his department with others within the company, as well as manage customers' needs, including scheduling, estimates, emails, and phone calls.
Coming from a family of five children and being the only girl, I can honestly say that this job felt made for me. I am the first and only person to hold this position. After all my years of hard work holding down two jobs, this was my opportunity to put my skills to use and make a difference. I had a job I could be proud of that allowed me to grow and thrive as a person.
Over the next three years, I cultivated an incredible amount of knowledge at RBG. I learned about the hydraulic industry and its safety aspects, including the regulations and requirements that protect equipment operators.
This is where it all hits home for me. All four of my brothers have worked or are currently working in the tree industry. Despite sibling torment and rivalry, those boys are my heart and soul. I worry about them daily being in buckets 60+ feet in the air or running the skidder on huge hills. There are all these scenarios that run through your mind for the people you love.
Working at RBG has given me firsthand experience in knowing what it takes to repair, build, and train equipment operators, giving me peace of mind knowing my brothers are safe while operating their equipment
I’m one of the lucky ones. I feel fortunate to be part of the RBG family that prioritizes people's safety. A million thank-yous will never be enough.
